No. SANTA FE Hybrid uses a powertrain combination of a gas engine and electric motor.

Think of regenerative braking as a built in battery charger that activates every time you slow down. When you lift your foot off the throttle or step on the brake pedal, the car automatically captures your slowing momentum, turns it into electricity, and pumps it right back into the hybrid battery. When driving in ECO or SMART mode, regenerative braking is adjusted in 3-steps through the paddle shift.
