**Available on the 3.8L V6.
Hyundai set out to create an even smarter all-wheel-drive system. HTRAC is the result of tireless testing, tweaking and evaluation. This video shows the Genesis in action during cold-weather testing at elevation in Montana’s scenic Bridger Mountains. See how, even at a snowy 12 degrees Fahrenheit, HTRAC delivers the all-weather benefits of a traditional AWD, and the fun-to-drive character of a performance-oriented RWD system. This state-of-the-art system is only available on the 3.8L V6 Genesis.
The All New Genesis’ chassis was developed with an international team of Hyundai experts on roads and racetracks around the world. From Nürburgring to the California Proving Grounds in the Mojave Desert, Hyundai worked to strike the ideal balance of control, confidence and comfort. Engineers consulted with renowned dynamics experts at Lotus to validate performance and meet the demands of the most demanding.
Standard on every Genesis, this system monitors and modifies engine throttle response, transmission shift points, steering and suspension* to provide optimal performance in a variety of road conditions. Drivers have four modes to choose from: Eco for conserving fuel, Normal for comfort, Sport for dynamic driving and Snow for low-traction road conditions.
*On 5.0 Ultimate only with CDC suspension.
This advanced suspension technology is available on the Genesis 5.0 and offers two driver-selectable suspension settings that work continuously in real time. Normal mode puts the emphasis on superior ride comfort. When Sport mode is engaged, damping is increased to enhance precision and control.
Enhanced shift logic seamlessly delivers the engine efforts to the pavement for smoother, more refined acceleration. Paddle shifters put that power and performance a mere finger’s length away.
The Genesis suspension is continuously hard at work enhancing precision and control for the driver, while an increase in rear lateral stiffness allows for more confident handling.
An undeniably powerful 420-horsepower V8 with an increased compression ratio and upgraded multiple-injection mapping propels the Genesis.
