  • What is the Safety Concern?

    On vehicles equipped with a Genuine Hyundai Accessory Trailer Tow Hitch and Wire Harness, debris and moisture accumulation on the tow hitch wire harness module could cause an electrical short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire while driving or while the vehicle is parked with the ignition off.

  • What vehicles are affected by this Safety Recall?

    Certain 2020-2022 Palisade vehicles that are potentially equipped with a Genuine Hyundai Accessory Trailer Tow Hitch and Wire Harness are affected by this recall.

  • Why is the recall amount so significant?

    Since this is a vehicle-based recall rather than an equipment-based recall and to understand what customers are affected all 2020-2022 vehicles will be subject to this recall. This Hyundai accessory can be dealer installed or sold over the counter by Hyundai dealers, therefore Hyundai is initiating this action to ensure the safety of its vehicles for Hyundai customers.

  • Does this mean I can't park my 2020-2022 Palisade in my garage?

    Correct, but only if is determined that your vehicle has both a Genuine Hyundai Accessory Trailer Tow HItch and Wire Harness installed. Due to potential fire risk, Hyundai strongly advises owners to park their vehicles outside and away from structures until the interim and/or remedy repair is completed.

  • What if I paid for repairs related to this Safety Recall?

    All associated repairs and remedies will be offered at no cost to affected owners. Additional, Hyundai will provide owners of affected vehicles reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses incurred to obtain a remedy for the recall condition in accordance with the plan submitted to NHTSA on 2/24/2022.
