Sonata and Tucson ranked ‘Highest’ from NHTSA safety test |
| Hyundai Motor America announced September 29, 2005 that the new NF Sonata and Small Utility Vehicle Tucson both have received 5-star rating frontal crash & 5-star rating for side-impact crash from National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
NHTSA conducted a crash test on the driver side and the passenger side to measure the safety of the vehicle.
In the mid-size sedan, Camry received 3-star rating for side-impact crash vs. the all-new 2006 Sonata received 5-star rating proving that Sonata is the most safest mid-size sedan.
Hyundai Motor America announced, "Receiving the highest rating from NHTSA definitely proved Sonata and Tucson are the safest vehicle in its class." Previously Sonata was also named as "The Safest mid-size sedan" by the automotive trade magazine "Popular Mechanics." |
